REAL HEROES is an attempt by CNN-IBN in partnership with Reliance Foundation to recognize the unrecognized and to celebrate an India beyond the celebrities.

In its sixth edition, this initiative will recognize 12 unsung Women Heroes from across the nation from diverse categories of Women Empowerment, Social Welfare, Sports, Youth, Environment, Education & Children and Health & Disability for rendering extraordinary services to the society and our nation.
Tata Tea Jaagore launches 'India Awakened'; recognizes VSSM as a society change agents
Delhi: Tata Tea Jaagore recognised 25 change agents with the release of a coffee table book today titled India Awakened. Released by Jairam Ramesh, Minister for Rural Development, the book acknowledges common people whose efforts have made a positive contribution to the society. It aims to create an environment of hope and motivation with success stories of these agents of change.
The coffee table book is a part of the ‘India Can, India Will’ campaign launched by Hindustan Times in partnership with Tata Tea in January 2012.
A panel comprising eminent personalities felicitated the change agents at the book launch. The panel comprised Dipankar Gupta, professor of sociology; Aruna Roy, member, National Advisory Council; Nirmala Sitaraman, national executive member, Bharatiya Janata Party, and Sagarika Ghose, CNN-IBN deputy editor who moderated the session.
The latest campaign Soch Badlo attempts to spread positivity in a nation plagued with negative sentiment currently. This association with Hindustan Times was done to identify and spread stories of people who have seen positivity where most would have seen adversity. This book is dedicated to these 25 individuals who have gone all out to make a positive difference to the lives of many. A single positive idea placed in the midst of people can change perspectives. With a motto that the Gujarati Women associate and along with personal development work for social cause a Gujarati “Hindu Stri Mandal” was established in Mumbai. By passage of time with the enthusiasm of the women of this organisation various socio-educational activities are carried out by the association and today known as “Stri Manadal, Santakruz”. Today women from all the caste creed and religion can participate in this organisation.
In the year 2009 the organisation recognised the activities of VSSM by conferring the award for her work done for the Nomadic & De-Notified Tribes.

It was a moment of pride when one of the leading nationalised banks of our country recognised our work. The State Bank of India on its 59th Foundation Day honoured VSSM for its endeavours on rights and entitlements of Nomadic and De-notifed Tribes of Gujarat. We believe, recognition by such leading institutions of our society supports the efforts we undertake to sensitise the society at large.
